Shake
Used in the creation of the world's most celebrated visual effects, Shake 4 is the only compositing software delivering a complete and production-proven tool set for both single artists and visual effects facilities. Now available as a Universal application, this version runs natively on both Intel and PowerPC-based Macs.

Already in a theatre near you

Shake 4 delivers all the tools artists require to create sophisticated visual effects for film and television. Its work flow is based on an intuitive non-linear process tree, which allows you to quickly navigate your composite and perform changes at any time. Furthermore, Shake 4 takes advantage of some of the world's most advanced compositing algorithms available with full-float processing to deliver quality and speed without compromise

Editing and effects pipeline integration

Now the leading film visual effects software can be combined with the world's leading non-linear editing software for a powerful editing and effects integrated pipeline. Cuts and layers from the Final Cut Pro 5 time line can automatically create a Shake node tree. Shake 4 will automatically launch from the Final Cut Pro 5 time line, reducing the need to recreate the edits and layers in Shake from scratch.

Unified 2D/3D compositing

Shake 4 lets you composite live action and 3D CGI layers with more realism using the new OpenGL-accelerated 3D multi-plane compositing node. 3D compositing is seamlessly integrated into the node view to work with the same flexible user interface as every other operation. You can combine full 32-bit float Keylight and Primatte keyers, vector-based paint and rotoshapes with tracking along with 3D animated cameras; or import your camera animation from a Maya-compatible camera data file.

Advanced image processing technology

Shake 4 leads the way in integrating the latest image processing technology into a single visual effects package. No other visual effects software delivers a complete set of tools including shape-based morphing and warping and advanced Optical Flow technology. Optical Flow algorithms use pixel-by-pixel image analysis to create smooth re-timing, incredible high-quality resizing and automatic stabilization.
